I can't believe Will is already a week old, and yet, this week has felt like an eternity. Blaise and I went up to Primary's together. We were there at the same time that the surgeons were to make some decisions about reductions and surgery. They examined him and decided to do the final reduction today. It went very well and they were able to get everything back where it goes. They are planning to do his closure on Monday, but if he handles things well they may even do it tomorrow.
We were also there to speak with Will's nurse practicioner. He informed us that Will has had so many blood draws that they want to give him a transfusion. We signed the consent forms and it seems like that has gone well. We are so looking forward to his surgery. We are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel in a way. We know that he has several weeks ahead of him still, but after surgery and weaning from the ventilator we will finally get to hold him!
